Biographical Information
Ryan Fehr is an Instructor and Post Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Maryland in 2010.
Dr. Fehr's work explores (a) the causes and consequences of forgiveness, revenge, apologies, and related conflict management processes; (b) organizational creativity and innovation; and (c) cross-cultural management. His work has been published in outlets such as Psychological Bulletin, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. His research on apology effectiveness received a "Best Paper" award from the Academy of Management's Conflict Management Division and was funded by a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. His dissertation, which explored the impact of forgiveness on creativity, was funded by a dissertation fellowship from the Department of Homeland Security's Center for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START).
In addition to his reserach experience, Ryan has served as a consultant for numerous organizations including Mercer Human Resources and Pascal Metrics. At the University of Maryland he currently teaches courses on negotiation and organizational research methods.
